About Heidar (AJ) Arjomand

Dr. Heidar (AJ) Arjomand is Medical Director of “Structural Heart Disease Interventions” at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center. He is an experienced interventional cardiologist with board certifications in Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Medicine. He completed one year of advanced additional training in “Structural & Adult Congenital Heart Disease Interventions” at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Arjomand is one of the few Interventional Cardiologist who has dedicated fellowship training in “Structural Heart Disease Interventions” such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR), and Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC).

Given his advanced training, Dr. Arjomand and his “Structural Heart Disease” team use innovative minimally invasive catheter-based techniques to treat multiple heart conditions including aortic stenosis (narrowing of aortic valve). Through procedures similar to routine cardiac catheterization, Dr. Arjomand and his team are able to repair multiple other heart defects including leaky heart valves without requirement for traditional open heart surgery. Such treatment modalities are often associated with quicker recovery and better outcomes.

Dr. Arjomand also has advanced training and board certifications in Vascular & Endovascular Medicine. He and his highly skilled cardiovascular team offer advanced minimally invasive treatment options for patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA), and Carotid Artery Disease.

Dr. Arjomand is a board-certified interventional cardiologist who also treats patients with heart attack (myocardial infarction = MI). He and his dedicated cardiovascular team are involved in the treatment of patients with myocardial infarction by performing emergent cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to open blocked arteries in the heart.
